Search; Entering Search Conditions
General Search, Search Options
There are two modes, “General Search” and “Search Options”.
You can switch anytime between two modes by clicking the top tab of the modes.
You can search by Keyword and refine by Category. |
You can use wild cards in your query terms and search by molecular structure is possible. |
If you enter the query terms in "Search by Number", "Search by Name", "Search by Molecular Formula" or "Search by Structure", the substance that is relevant to all your search terms will be retrieved.
You can confine your search by choosing categoryies of your target substances.
Keyword
Search by number
Enter the number of substance of interest to you and select "CAS RN", "MITI Number", or others from the pull-down menu.
Other than the ISHA Number, search by number is exact match search.
But in "Search Options" mode, you can use a wild card "*" or "?".
"*" Matches any number of characters.
"?" Matches any single character in the specified location.
Half-sized or full-sized number, number with hyphen

Search by name
In "General Search" mode, you can enter several keywords separated by space (1). You can select the name of interest from the pull-down menu (2).
In "Search Options" mode and in the case of not using a wild card, your search will be an exact match. But in the case of using a wild card characters (3), you can enter several keywords separated by space. You can search in the manner of "Include any keywords" or "Not include the keyword". If you enter keywords in more than one input field, you will retrieve the substance name, matching all of those conditions. You can retrieve the name of interest from each pull-down menu (2).
(1) If you select a partial match from the pull-down menu, you retrieve the substance name, including all of several keywords. In the case of an exact match, you retrieve the substance name entirely consistent with the entered keyword including the space.
(2) You can select "All" name, "General" name, "Synonym" or "Each Source", from the pull-down menu.
(3) You can use a wild card "*" or "?".
"*" Matches any number of characters.
"?" Matches any single character in the specified location.
Search by Molecular Formula
Please enter a molecular formula with alphanumeric symbols by Hill method in the input field. In this method, the substance containing carbon is described initially C and H in the following, followed by other elements in alphabetical order. For substances that do not contain carbon, it will describe all of the elements in alphabetical order.

Search Results
You can select the display format of Search Results. By default, the only items containing some data will be displayed. To display all, including empty items, please click the check "Including blank data.".
Search by Structure
This field allows you to search the NITE-CHRIP database : about 30,000 chemical structures
Input chemical structure search options for the substance of interest to you as indicated.
Enter SMILES of the substance of interest to you. |
Select structure files (MOL (.mol) or SMILES(.smi)) from the pull-down menu. Enter the File Pass into the text box below and click on the load button. The system will display a structural formula based on the input structure file. Use only the extension for the files as specified.
|
Select one among three structure search methods ((Partial Match, Exact Match and Similarity). If you select "Similar", please enter the percentage of structural similarity (percentage of similarity) (%).

Search Results
If more than one CHRIP_ID that corresponds to the search condition are retrieved, the list of the concerned substances will be displayed. You can sort the list of the search results and transition to "Search Results" page.
Chemical substances displaying (※1)(※2)(※3) at the Interim Search Results(Display by CHRIP ID and CAS RN) means as follws.
(※1) The substance which matches the substance indicated by MITI number or cabinet order number when a certain condition is fulfilled. The condition is listed in the remarks column of the search result, so be sure to check it.
(※2) The substance which is regarded as CSCL: Class I Specified Chemical Substances, Class II Specified Chemical Substances, Monitoring Chemical Substances, Priority Assessment Chemical Substances by the
operation notification "Implementation of the Act on the Evaluation of Chemical Substances and Regulation of Their Manufacture, etc. 3-2(1)".
(※3) The substance which had been designated in accordance with paragraph (5) of Article 2 of the CSCL: Priority Assessment Chemical Substances and later was cancelled.
