The National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE) held a press briefing on the prevention of accidents due to aging deterioration of CRT-based TVs.

According to the establishment of “The Long-term Use Consumer Product Safety Inspection System” and “The Long-term Use Consumer Product Safety Indication System” along with the amendment of the Consumer Products Safety Act on April 1st, 2009, NITE had newly founded “Office of Product Aged Deterioration Analysis” and started accident analyses on accidents due to aging deterioration for reducing future serious product accidents and etc due to aging deterioration. As one action in the chain, NITE had decided to promote consumers’ awareness regarding prevention of accidents due to the aging deterioration of CRT-based TVs which was the target item of “The Long-term Use Consumer Product Safety Indication System” by disclosing the analysis results on them.
