Skin sensitization - - - - - -
Germ cell mutagenicity - - - - - -
Carcinogenicity Not classified - - - - The IPCS paper presented by public comments is reliable since it is created by IPCS, is based on latest research, solved a generating mechanism of the lung tumor acknowledged in mice as a phenomenon peculiar to mice, therefore, and it concluded that "it cannot be extrapolated to human lung cancer." Moreover, the human epidemiological data, based on which IARC (2002) carries out classification, is on cancer of lymphatic system and blood system. On the other hand, EU RAR (Draft, Nov. 2007) summarizes as follows; "no definite causal relationship between specific cancer mortality rate and styrene exposure is found at the styrene handling and manufacturing site, and the causative substance of the cancer of lymphatic system and blood system observed at the Styrene and Butadiene manufacturing site is likely to be butadiene. Considering all of the above, it is defined as "Not classified".

Specific target organ toxicity - Repeated exposure - - - - - -
Aspiration hazard - - - - - -
