6 Carcinogenicity Not classified - - - - The public comment is requesting it to be corrected to "Not classified" based on the possibility of its deletion from the evaluation R list of NTP 12th RoC, however, it was not necessarily completely deleted from R list at present. However, IARC changed it into group 3 from group 2B in 2000 as "it will not be thought that the multiplication of peroxisome, one of the developing mechanism of the hepatic cell tumor seen in rodent, can be applied to humans." Rather considering of this point, it is corrected from " Category 2" to "Not classified". However, referring to the evaluation change to Group 3 by IARC, Japan Academic Society for Industrial Hygiene concluded as follows; "it can hardly be said that there is an evidence that the carcinogenicity mechanism in laboratory animals does not occur in humans." and the Society has not changed its evaluation, 2B.
7 Reproductive toxicity - - - - - -
8 Specific target organ toxicity - Single exposure - - - - - -
9 Specific target organ toxicity - Repeated exposure Not classified - - - - Since there is species difference between rodents and primates about the testis toxicity of the substance, it is not appropriate to consider testis as a target organ based on the rat data. Therefore, testis is excluded from the target organs. About liver toxicity, from the claim of IARC that there is no human relevance in the mechanism of hepatoma cells in rodents, liver is excluded from the target organs. Moreover, according to CERI/NITE Hazard Assessment Report No.7 (2004) and CERI Hazard Data 96-17 (1997), no toxic effect that applies to the GHS classification of specific target organ toxicity following repeated exposure was not detected. Therefore, GHS classification is corrected from "Classification not possible" to "Not classified". In addition, although the result of three-ministry GHS classification in the section of reproductive toxicity was "Category 1B" and was modified to "Classification not possible" in the report of 2006 fiscal year, the classification was modified to "Category 1B" in the business of 2007 fiscal year.
