HEALTH HAZARDS
Hazard class Classification Symbol Signal word Hazard statement Precautionary statement Rationale for the classification
1 Acute toxicity (Oral) Classification not possible - - - - Classification is not possible because there is no data. In addition, EU classification of 3,4-Dichloroaniline (CAS No.95-76-1) which is a constitutional isomer is T;23/24/25 (EU-Annex I).
1 Acute toxicity (Dermal) Classification not possible - - - - Classification is not possible because there is no data. In addition, EU classification of 3,4-Dichloroaniline (CAS No.95-76-1) which is a constitutional isomer is T;23/24/25 (EU-Annex I).
1 Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Gases) Not applicable - - - - Since it was a solid by the definition of GHS and inhalation in gas was not assumed, it was classified into "Not applicable".
1 Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Vapours) Classification not possible - - - - Classification not possible due to lack of data
1 Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Dusts and mists) Classification not possible - - - - Classification is not possible because there is no data. In addition, EU classification of 3,4-Dichloroaniline (CAS No.95-76-1) which is a constitutional isomer is T;23/24/25 (EU-Annex I).
2 Skin corrosion/irritation Classification not possible - - - - Classification not possible due to lack of data
3 Serious eye damage/eye irritation Classification not possible - - - - Classification is not possible because there is no data. In addition, the EU classification of 3, 4-Dichloroaniline (CAS No.95-76-1) which is a constitutional isomer is Xi; R41 (EU-Annex I).
4 Respiratory sensitization Classification not possible - - - - Classification is not possible since there is no data.
4 Skin sensitization Classification not possible - - - - Classification is not possible since there is no data. In addition, 3- and 3,4-Dichloroaniline (CAS No.95-76-1) which are constitutional isomers can be classified as R43 (EU-AnnexI) in the European Union classification.
5 Germ cell mutagenicity Classification not possible - - - - Although there is a description of "negative" in the reverse mutation test employing Salmonella typhimurium (NTP DB (Access on December 2008)) as an in vitro examination, classification is not possible because there is no data of in vivo examination. In addition, also refer to the classification of 3,4-Dichloroaniline (CAS No.95-76-1) which is a constitutional isomer.
6 Carcinogenicity Classification not possible - - - - Since no evaluation by major international evaluation agencies is made and there is no data, classification is not possible.
7 Reproductive toxicity Classification not possible - - - - Classification not possible due to lack of data
8 Specific target organ toxicity - Single exposure Category 2 (blood system) Warning H371: May cause damage to organs (blood system) P309+P311: IF exposed or if you feel unwell: Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.
P260: Do not breathe dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray.
P264: Wash ... thoroughly after handling.
P270: Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product.
P405: Store locked up.
P501: Dispose of contents/container to ...
HSDB (2003) which is the information source of List2 has a description of "central cyanosis, headache, fatigue, syncope, difficulty breathings, central nervous system depression, a shock", and "the increases of methemoglobin values and effect of this reduction of transport of blood oxygen rate", etc. Moreover, as for constitutional isomers, there is a description that "2,4-, 2,5-, 3,4-Dichloroaniline are methemoglobin formation substances like other Chloroaniline, and show an acute condition by methemoglobinemia" (BUA 140 (Summary 1993)), and this article was also classified into Category 2 (blood systems) since the effects by methemoglobinemia was taken into consideration.
9 Specific target organ toxicity - Repeated exposure Classification not possible - - - - Classification is not possible because there is no data. See also the classification of its constitutional isomers, 2,5-Dichloroaniline (CAS No. 95-82-9) and 3, 4-Dichloroaniline (CAS No. 95-76-1).
10 Aspiration hazard Classification not possible - - - - Classification not possible due to lack of data

ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS
Hazard class Classification Symbol Signal word Hazard statement Precautionary statement Rationale for the classification
11 Hazardous to the aquatic environment (Acute) Category 2 - - H401: Toxic to aquatic life P273: Avoid release to the environment.
P501: Dispose of contents/container to ...
It was classified into Category 2 from 48 hours LC50=1.12mg/L of the crustacea (Daphnia magna) (AQUIRE (2008)).
11 Hazardous to the aquatic environment (Long-term) Category 2 - H411: Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects P273: Avoid release to the environment.
P391: Collect spillage.
P501: Dispose of contents/container to ...
Since acute toxicity was Category 2 and there were no rapid degradability (BIOWIN), it was classified into Category 2.
