Based on LC50 values of 1080 ppm/4h and 1994 ppm/4h for rats (PATTY (5th, 2001)), the substance was classified into Category 3. Since the LC50 values are lower than 90% of saturated vapour pressure concentration (25 degC, 5526 ppmV), the classification criteria for gas was adopted.
1 | Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Dusts and mists) | Classification not possible | - | - | - | - | No data available. |
2 | Skin corrosion/irritation | Not classified | - | - | - | - | Based on a result that 4-hour skin contact on rabbits caused moderate erythema that was resolved by the end of the 24-hour observation period (PATTY (5th, 2001)), the substance was classified as "Not classified". |
3 | Serious eye damage/eye irritation | Not classified | - | - | - | - | Based on a result of "not irritating" in a rabbit eye test (PATTY (5th, 2001)), the substance was classified as "Not classified".」 |

In rat oral and inhalation acute toxicity tests, it was reported that the predominant effects after acute dosing were CNS depression and respiratory paralysis (PATTY (5th, 2001)). In another rat inhalation acute toxicity test, decreased motor activity and lethargy occurred at the higher dose levels (PATTY (5th, 2001)). Since the CNS depression was observed at dose levels of 1250 mg/kg (LD50 value) for oral exposure and 1080 - 1994 ppm/4h (5.22 - 9.64 mg/L/4h) (LC50 value) for inhalation exposure (PATTY (5th, 2001)), these dose levels with oral and inhalation routes are within the guidance value range for Category 2 and 1, respectively. Therefore, the substance was classified into Category 1 (central nervous system). Although decedent rats showed gross lung changes upon necropsy in the inhalation acute toxicity test (PATTY (5th, 2001)), the result was not used as the basis of classification since the details are not clear.
9 | Specific target organ toxicity - Repeated exposure | Classification not possible | - | - | - | - | No data available. |
10 | Aspiration hazard | Classification not possible | - | - | - | - | No data available. |
