In a 24-month diet administration test with rats (doses: 0, 30, 100, 300 and 1,000 ppm), microcytic anemia with the elevation of phospholipid and cholesterol levels occurred, presumably as secondary effects of liver disorders at or above 300 ppm (15 mg/kg/day) corresponding to the guidance value range for Category 2, and histopathological changes of swelling, focal necrosis, and vacuolization of liver cells were observed (USEPA/HPV (2001)). Therefore, it was classified in Category 2 (liver).
