It is described as the result of a skin sensitization test with animals (species: unknown) in EHC 202 (1998) that no contact sensitization to phenanthrene was observed, but it is described in PATTY (6th, 2012) that phenanthrene is a mild allergen and a human dermal photosensitizer. Therefore, it was judged to cause photosensitization, and it was classified in Category 1 (photosensitization). |
