This substance is irritating to the respiratory tract. Additionally, it has been used as an anesthetic in surgical operations (ACGIH (7th, 2001), HSDB (Access on September 2014)). In humans, transitory incoordination and anesthetic action were observed (ACGIH (7th, 2001), HSDB (Access on September 2014)). As for experimental animals, vomiting, cough and anesthesia were observed by inhalation exposure with guinea pigs to 154,000 ppm (ACGIH (7th, 2001), HSDB (Access on September 2014)).
