-
-
- - It is estimated that it is non-flammable (IARC 111 (In prep)).
12 Substances and mixtures which, in contact with water, emit flammable gases Not classified
-
-
- - Because it is mineral, it is estimated that it does not react vigorously with water.
13 Oxidizing liquids Not applicable
-
-
- - "Solids" according to GHS definition.
14 Oxidizing solids Classification not possible
-
-
- - It is an inorganic compound that contains oxygen or halogen, but the classification is not possible due to no data.

A high incidence of deaths from mesothelioma was reported among residents in the eastern town of Sicily in Italy (SMR: 7.21, a 95% confidence interval: 3.59 to 13.00). The work histories of the cases were investigated, but it was estimated that it was caused not by occupational exposure effects but by environmental factors (IARC 100C (2012)). Results of environmental investigation suggested that these mesotheliomas were most likely due to exposure to fluoro-edenite. It is written that this mineral fiber is newly recognized "asbestiform fibres" that are similar in morphology and composition to the tremolite-actinolite series (IARC 100C (2012)). IARC classified all asbestos types including tremolite and actinolite in Group 1 (IARC 100C (2012)) and is going to add fluoro-edenite in Group 1 as well (IARC 111 (In prep)).
Therefore, this substance was classified in Category 1A in this hazard class.

10 Aspiration hazard Classification not possible
-
