The three LD50 values for rats of 1790 mg/kg, 3000 mg/kg and 2.2 mL/kg (1848 mg/kg) were reported (PATTY, 5th (2001)). Two of them corresponded to Category 4, the substance was classified as Category 4. | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |
1 | Acute toxicity (Dermal) | Not classified |
- |
- | - | Based on the LD50 values obtained from three tests using rabbits which are all > 2000 mg/kg (PATTY, 5th (2001)), the substance was classified as "Not classified" in the JIS classification (corresponding to Category 5 or "Not classified" in the UN-GHS classification). | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |

Based on the two LC50 values for rats of approximately 7300 ppm/4hrs and 8170 ppm/4hrs (PATTY, 5th (2001)), the substance was classified as Category 4. Since the test was carried out at the concentration of less than 90% of the saturated vapor pressure concentration (182368 ppm), the criterion values for gas were adopted. | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |

2 | Skin corrosion/irritation | Not classified |
- |
- | - | In the rabbit test, application of 0.5 mL test substance to the skin caused erythema in 3 of 6 treated rabbits and it was judged as slight irritant. All symptoms were reversible on 7 days after treatment (PATTY, 5th (2001)). Based on the information, the substance was classified as "Not classified" | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |
3 | Serious eye damage/eye irritation | Category 2 |
Warning |
H319 | P305+P351+P338 P337+P313 P264 P280 |
In the rabbit test, it was reported that instillation of the substance to eye caused severe eye irritation (PATTY, 5th (2001)). In other rabbit test, it was reported that severe eye irritation occurred in washed eye after 10 or 60 seconds of instillation (PATTY, 5th (2001)). Based on the information, the substance was classified as Category 2. | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |

There was a report stating that contact with the liquid or vapor of the substance might irritate mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract, acute respiratory effects were noted by exposure to this substance (impurity and degradation product of Mocap) in a potato field treated with the pesticide ethoprop (Mocap) (PATTY, 5th (2001)). There is additional information describing that sign of respiratory irritation were observed during exposure in the acute inhalation study in rats (PATTY, 5th (2001)). Based on these findings, the substance was classified as Category 3 (respiratory tract irritation). In addition, clinical signs which were reported in rats exposed to the high concentration over the range of the guidance values (25.44 mg/L, 8170 ppm) were as follows: depressed activity, ataxia, tremor and labored respiration (PATTY, 5th (2001)). | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |
