In oral administration tests using rats (1350-15380 mg/kg bw), symptoms such as hypoactivity, salivation, labored breathing, muscular weakness, and prostration were observed in a dose-dependent fashion, although concentrations that induce these symptoms could not be determined (HSDB, 2008). Based on these results, the substance was classified into Category 3 (narcotic effects). In a hypodermic administration test using rabbits (dose: 0.5 ml, specific gravity correction value: 460 mg/kg), the following changes were observed: discolored abdomen, pigment alteration in the lung, liver, spleen and adrenal, dark red foci in the right kidney and inside walls of the stomach, and vascularization of the intestine. - - In 4-week mixed diet tests using rats (dose: 3400 mg/kg, 90-day correction: 1058 mg/kg), the only symptom noted was body weight reduction (Patty (5th, 2001)).
