1 | Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Vapours) | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - | An LC50 value is estimated to be more than 5304 ppm/4h from the information that a 30-minute inhalation exposure test up to the concentration of 15000 ppm in rats (converted to a 4-hour exposure equivalent concentration: 5304 ppm) reported no deaths (PATTY (5th, 2001)). But it was classified as "Classification not possible" because the category cannot be determined. Besides, a reference value of gasses as vapour with hardly included mist was applied because the test concentration is lower than 90 % of the saturated vapour pressure concentration (82237 ppm). |

In a 30-minute inhalation exposure test in mice, the dose calculated to reduce the respiratory rate by 50 % (RD50) was reported to be11200 ppm, the anesthetic dose as defined by depression of the righting reflex was reported to be 11600 ppm, and all adverse responses were recoverable after cessation of exposure. (PATTY (5th, 2001)) Furthermore, in an inhalation test in mice, a mixed response appeared after cessation of the sensory irritation response due to pulmonary irritation and anesthesia resulted in a decrease in respiratory rate and tidal volume. (HSDB (2009)) On the other hand, there is the information that this substance is irritating the respiratory tract in human (HSDB (2009)). From the above, it was classified in Category 3 (respiratory tract irritation, narcotic effects). Besides, it is classified in R67 in EU classification (EC-JRC (ESIS) (Access on Nov. 2011)). |
