In an acute oral toxicity test with rats (200, 500, 1,000, 2,000 mg/kg bw), clinical signs of hypokinesia, sedation, dyspnea, and abdominal swelling were observed, but no abnormalities were found at necropsy, and an LD50 value of 1,689 mg/kg was reported (EU-RAR (2008)).
