1 | Acute toxicity (Oral) | Not classified |
- |
- | - | No data were available for this substance. The rat LD50 value of > 2332 mg/kg was documented (SIDS (Access on Jul. 2010)) for C9 rich, C8-10 alkenes (CAS No. 68526-55-6). Thus the substance was classified as "Not classified" in the JIS classification (corresponding to Category 5 in the UN-GHS classification). | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |
1 | Acute toxicity (Dermal) | Not classified |
- |
- | - | No data were available for this substance. The rabbit LD50 value of > 2332 mg/kg was documented (SIDS (Access on Jul.

- |
- | - | Liquid (GHS definition) | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |
1 | Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Vapours) | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - | No data were available for this substance. The rat LC50 (4 hour) value of >13.6 mg/L (2633 ppm) was documented (SIDS (Access on Jul. 2010)) for C9 rich, C8-10 alkenes (CAS No. 68526-55-6), this information did not provide a basis for classification. The test concentration, 2633 ppm, was less than the 90 % of the saturated vapor pressure concentration (7105 ppm), the criterion values for gas were adopted for the classification. | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |
1 | Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Dusts and mists) | Classification not possible |

- | - | No data available. | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |
2 | Skin corrosion/irritation | Not classified |
- |
- | - | No data were available of the substance. But as for alkenes (CAS No. 68526-55-6, C8 - 10, C9 Rich), mild irritation which was characterized by slight erythema was reported in 24-hour skin application test in rabbits at 73.8 - 2332 mg/kg of undiluted substance (SIDS (Access on Jul. 2010)). Based on the document, the substance was classified as "Not classified" in the JIS classification (corresponding to Category 3 in the UN-GHS classification). | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |

But as for alkenes (CAS No. 68526-55-6, C8 - 10, C9 Rich), mild conjunctival irritation was reported in rabbit test by instillation of 0.1 ml of undiluted substance, but symptoms disappeared within 24 hours and maximum total score of Draize was 6 (SIDS (Access on Jul. 2010)). Based on the document, the substance was classified as "Not classified". | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |

No data on this substance was available. In the acute inhalation toxicity studies of the C9 rich mixture with C8 - C10 alkenes (CAS No. 68526-55-6) in mice, rats or guinea pigs, no deaths occurred in any species at a vapor concentration of 11.1 mg/L/6hrs (converted value as that of 4-hour exposure: 13.6 mg/L), and the treatment-related clinical signs observed were as follows: labored respiration in mice, ataxia and lethargy in rats, and slight tremors in guinea pigs. No other remarkable changes were observed at necropsy (SIDS (Access on Jul. 2010)). Moreover, the rats administered orally at high dose (2332 mg/kg) showed a mild depression, while anesthetic effects were reported when exposed to this substance at high concentrations (PATTY, 5th, (2001)). As mentioned above, the substance was classified as Category 3 (narcotic effects). | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |
