Hepatic injury and renal failure were noted in humans as acute effects via oral and by inhalation. And in the one case, it was reported that acute renal necrosis was shown by the examination of renal biopsy (HSDB (2002)). By acute inhalation exposure to vapors, disseminated intravascular coagulation and hemolytic anemia were reported (HSDB (2002)). Furthermore, the following were described as clinical signs after vapor inhalation: gasping, respiratory arrest, coughing, substernal pain and extreme respiratory distress at high concentrations over 1500 ppm; depression of central nervous system and moderate irritation of the respiratory system at lower concentrations; malaise, headache, chest and abdominal discomfort and irritability noted after inhalation exposures were reported to persist for several weeks and sometimes perhaps for several years (HSDB (2002)). Meanwhile, damage of the liver and kidneys, effects on central nervous system and irritation to the lungs were described as the hazardous effects of the substance in the manual for human poisoning therapy (DHP, 13th (2002)).
