In a combined repeated dose toxicity study with the reproduction/developmental toxicity screening test with rats in the oral route (gavage), parental toxicity (enlargement and cortical vacuolation of the adrenal gland (males and females), a decrease in food consumption, an increase in total cholesterol, a decrease in cholinesterase activities, enlargement of the liver (males), suppression of body weight gains, histopathological changes in the liver, kidney, and thymus (females)) were observed at 60 mg/kg bw/day, and reproductive effects (decreases in a fertility index and an implantation index) were found at 300 mg/kg bw/day, which were thought to be caused by dysspermatogenesis in males (SIDS (2002), JECDB (Access on October 2013), Environmental Risk Assessment for Chemical Substances vol. 9, Tentative Hazard Assessment Sheet (Ministry of the Environment, 2011)).
