In a rabbit Draize test (Code of Federal Regulations test procedure) following application of 0.5 g, four rabbits died within 24-hour after application. Two rabbits to which application was made to non-abraded skin survived. One surviving rabbit showed necrosis with severe erythema and edema and the second surviving rabbit showed moderate erythema and slight edema. The mean irritation score was 5.25 (max 8) (Toxicology 24 (1982)). Based on this report, the substance was classified into Category 2. As relevant information, there is a report of "severe irritating" (RTECS (2008)). | FY2009 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (March, 2009) |
3 | Serious eye damage/eye irritation | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - | Classification not possible due to lack of data. As information in a document in List 3, there is a report of "severe" irritating in a Draize test, where 100 microL of the substance was applied to the eye of rabbits (RTECS (2008)). | FY2009 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (March, 2009) |
