1 | Acute toxicity (Oral) | Not classified |
- |
- | - | Based on the rat LD50 value of 4800 mg/kg ("Toxicity Testing Reports of Environmental Chemicals"(Chemicals Investigation Promoting Council) (Access on Jan. 2011)), the substance was classified as "Not classified" in the JIS classification (corresponding to Category 5 in the UN-GHS classification). | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |
1 | Acute toxicity (Dermal) | Classification not possible |

5 | Germ cell mutagenicity | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - | The classification was not possible due to lack of in vivo test data. As relevant information, as for in vitro studies, negative results in the Ames test ("Toxicity Testing Reports of Environmental Chemicals"(Chemicals Investigation Promoting Council) (Access on Jan. 2011)) and weak positive results in the chromosome aberration test using fibroblasts derived from Chinese hamster lung (CHL/IU cells) ("Toxicity Testing Reports of Environmental Chemicals"(Chemicals Investigation Promoting Council) (Access on Jan. 2011)) were reported. | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |

9 | Specific target organ toxicity - Repeated exposure | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - | In the 28-day repeated dose oral toxicity study in rats, no treatment-related effects were noted in clinical signs of toxicity, body weight changes, and food consumptions. As the effects considered as treatment-related, increases in platelet counts and fibrinogen contents, prolongation of activated partial thromboplastin time and prothrombin time, higher values of total cholesterol and total protein, higher value of calcium, higher value of phospholipid and lower value of chloride were observed in the highest dose groups at 250 mg/kg/day (converted value as that of 90-day study: 77.8 mg/kg/day). Moreover, histopathological examinations revealed centrilobular hypertrophy of hepatocytes in the liver and hypertrophy of follicular epithelial cells in the thyroid gland in the treatment groups at 60 mg/kg/day (converted value as that of 90-day study: 18.7 mg/kg/day) or higher ("Toxicity Testing Reports of Environmental Chemicals" (Chemicals Investigation Promoting Council) (Access on Jan. 2011)). With regard to the results described above, since the grade of the changes was minimal to slight in the liver and minimal in the thyroid gland, respectively, and since it was discussed that the changes in hematological parameters were not clarified about the mechanism of onset ("Toxicity Testing Reports of Environmental Chemicals" (Chemicals Investigation Promoting Council) (Access on Jan. 2011)), their toxicological significance could not be judged. Thus, "Classification not possible" was justified due to lack of sufficient data. | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |
