There are reports of damages to the lung such as pulmonary oedema and dyspnea in mice, monkeys, rabbits at dose levels within the guidance value range for Category 1 (DFGOT vol. 20 (2003), PATTY (5th, 2001). Although there are reports of tremors and ptosis in monkeys (PATTY (5th, 2001)), the effects on the central nervous system was probably induced by lack of oxygen (DFGOT vol. 20 (2003)). For humans, there are reports suggesting respiratory tract irritation such as cough and irritant to mucous membranes (HSDB (2005)) and a report of lung damage such as pulmonary oedema and respiratory distress (ICSC (J) (1997), HSDB (2005)).
