There is not many pieces of information on this substance. However, in inhalation exposure in rats (not less than 1,096 ppm), central nervous system disorder such as convulsions, hypoactivity, and dyspnea was reported. It is written that principal target organ in acute toxicity is the brain, especially cerebellum, and central nervous system is affected by acute exposure (ACGIH (7th, 2012), HSDB (Access on June 2015), draft ATSDR (2014)). The doses in the above inhalation exposure in rats correspond to Category 1 in Guidance values.
Therefore, the substance was classified in Category 1 (central nervous system).

9 Specific target organ toxicity - Repeated exposure Category 2 (central nervous system)

Warning
H373 P260
P314
P501
There is no information in humans.
As for experimental animals, in a 12-week inhalation toxicity test using rats, the following effects on the central nervous system were observed: decreases in cytochrome oxidase activity at 200 ppm (converted to a Guidance value equivalent: 133.3 ppm) or higher (week 3,6,12); and decreased brainstem auditory-evoked potential at 300 ppm (converted to a Guidance value equivalent: 200 ppm) or above. These doses are within the range of Category 2. Besides, changes in functional observation battery (FOB) and latency of somatosensory-evoked potentials, a histopathological change, and changes in magnetic resonance microscopy (MRM) (multiple hypointense areas in posterior thalamic nuclear group, hypothalamus, and posterior colliculus) were observed at 400 ppm (converted to a Guidance value equivalent: 266.7 ppm) that is the dose above Category 2 (ACGIH (7th, 2012)). Therefore, the substance was classified in Category 2 (central nervous system).
