1 | Acute toxicity (Oral) | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - | No data available. | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |
1 | Acute toxicity (Dermal) | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - | Insufficient data were available. The rat LD50 value of 3100 mg/kg (RTECS (2003)) was documented from the "List 3" information source designated in the GHS classification guidance for the Japanese government. | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |
1 | Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Gases) | Not classified (Not applicable) |
- |
- | - | Liquid (GHS definition) | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |
1 | Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Vapours) | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - | The rat LC0 value of 1470 ppm (PATTY, 5th (2001)) and LCLo value of 3600 ppm (PIM 981 (2001)) were documented. Since these values did not provide the basis for classification, the substance was classified as "Classification not possible". The toxicity values are lower than 90% of the saturated vapor pressure concentration (10432.9 ppm), the criterion values for gas were adopted for the classification. | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |

8 | Specific target organ toxicity - Single exposure | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - | It was reported that the rats exposed to 5 mg/L for 5 hours by inhalation caused ataxia, mild hypoxemia and mild hypercapnia, and that these signs were in some extent similar to those caused by ethanol exposure (PIM 981 (2001)). Classification was, however, not possible due to lack of sufficient data. | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |
9 | Specific target organ toxicity - Repeated exposure | Category 2 (kidney) |
Warning |
H373 | P260 P314 P501 |
In the 13-week inhalation toxicity study with rats (as vapor, 6 hrs/day, 5 days/week), clinical signs such as ataxia and lacrimation were observed only in the high dose groups (5.0 mg/L). Histopathological changes were observed in the kidneys in males at the mid dose (1.0 mg/L) or higher, and the lesions consisted of tubular regeneration in the cortex and outer zone of medulla frequently with epithelial necrosis. In the high dose group, proteinaceous casts in the outer zone of medulla were also observed (PATTY, 5th (2001)). Since the mid dose (1.0 mg/L) corresponded to Category 2 within the guidance values, the substance was classified as Category 2 (kidney). | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |

11 | Hazardous to the aquatic environment Short term (Acute) | Not classified |
- |
- | - | Classified as "Not classified" from its 96h-EC50 = 257.7 mg/L for algae (Ankistrodesmus falcatus) (HSDB, 2009). | FY2010 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (July, 2010) |
11 | Hazardous to the aquatic environment Long term (Chronic) | Not classified |
