1 | Explosives | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - | Because there is a chemical group associated with explosive properties (nitro group) present in the molecule, and oxygen balance of -84.2 is higher than the criteria of -200, it may correspond to explosives. However, the classification is not possible due to no data. | FY2014 | GHS Classification Guidance for the Japanese Government (FY2013 revised edition (Ver. 1.0)) |

1 | Acute toxicity (Oral) | Category 4 |
Warning |
H302 | P301+P312 P264 P270 P330 P501 |
Based on an LD50 value of 510 mg/kg for mice (DFGOT vol. 11 (1998)), it was classified in Category 4. | FY2014 | GHS Classification Guidance for the Japanese Government (FY2013 revised edition (Ver. 1.0)) |

1 | Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Dusts and mists) | Not classified |
- |
- | - | Based on an LC50 value (3 hours) of 66,000 mg/m3 (= 66 mg/L) for mice (converted 4-hour equivalent value: 49.5 mg/L) (DFGOT vol.1 (1991)), it was classified as "Not classified." Besides, the reference value of a mist was applied because the LC50 value was higher than the saturated vapor concentration (39 mg/L). | FY2014 | GHS Classification Guidance for the Japanese Government (FY2013 revised edition (Ver. 1.0)) |
2 | Skin corrosion/irritation | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - | Classification not possible due to lack of data. Besides, although there are reports that this substance did not show clear irritation to the skin (HSDB (Access on July 2014)) and that application of 5 mL of the undiluted liquid of this substance for 10 days (2 times/day) resulted in a slight erythema (DFGOT vol. 1 (1991)), these data were not used for classification because details of the test conditions were unknown and the data were based on a repeated dose study. Furthermore, information used in the previous classification was based on effects on the skin in a repeated dose study, and therefore, the data was not used for the classification. | FY2014 | GHS Classification Guidance for the Japanese Government (FY2013 revised edition (Ver. 1.0)) |
3 | Serious eye damage/eye irritation | Category 2 |
Warning |
H319 | P305+P351+P338 P337+P313 P264 P280 |
Based on a description that the vapour of this substance irritated the eyes (DFGOT vol. 11 (1998), HSDB (Access on June 2014)), it was classified in Category 2. Because details of a description of "strong irritant" reported in HSDB was unknown and it was not possible to consider it as effects on the eyes, the data were not used for classification. | FY2014 | GHS Classification Guidance for the Japanese Government (FY2013 revised edition (Ver. 1.0)) |

Warning |
H335 | P304+P340 P403+P233 P261 P271 P312 P405 P501 |
There is no reliable information on humans. In experimental animals, there are descriptions of respiratory tract irritation and narcotic effects on mice. Lacrimation and irritation of the nasal and bronchial mucosa were observed in rabbits and guinea pigs (ACGIH (7th, 2001), DFGOT vol. 11 (1998), HSDB (Access on June 2014), PATTY (6th, 2012)). Besides, a description of narcotic effects was not used for classification because it was described only in one information source (DFGOT vol. 11 (1998)). From the above, it was classified in Category 3 (respiratory tract irritation). |
