8 | Specific target organ toxicity - Single exposure | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - | Classification not possible due to lack of data. There is no single exposure data of this substance on humans and mammals. Besides, in single oral dose tests using hens, it is reported that the test substance inhibited neurotoxic esterase and that ataxia and neuropathological lesions were observed in a part of hens at high doses (3,000 to 9,000 mg/kg) (HSDB (Access on June 2016). |

9 | Specific target organ toxicity - Repeated exposure | Category 2 (nervous system) |
Warning |
H373 | P260 P314 P501 |
As for humans, it is reported that in 4 out of 8 male employees who exposed with this substance, electromyogram abnormalities were observed (HSDB (Access on June 2016)). It is reported that one male worker exposed by the dermal route for 2 years to this substance developed weakness and paresthesia in his hands, and his nerve conduction velocity was reduced (HSDB (Access on June 2016)). On the one hand, it is reported that at the production plant of this substance, as a result of clinical neurological examination including nerve conduction velocity tests conducted on 52 men and 8 women who were exposed and on 39 men and 14 women who were not exposed, no effects were observed (HSDB (Access on June 2016)). As for experimental animals, it was reported that in a repeated dose toxicity study using rats administered by dermal, although the degree is unknown, plasma cholinesterase activity and erythrocyte cholinesterase activity, etc. were inhibited (HSDB (Access on June 2016)). As above, electromyogram abnormality, muscle weakness, paresthesia, a decrease in nerve conduction velocity in humans were reported, but the substance was classified in Category 2 (nervous system) because these results were obtained from sources in List 2 in the GHS classification guidance for the Japanese government. |
