In a 2-year mixed diet study using rats, the effect of the substance on the bile duct was noted at the dose of 12 mg/kg bw (DFGOT Vol. 21 (2002)). Thus, the substance falls under Category 2 (digestive system). In a mixed diet study using dogs, no serious symptoms were noted (Initial Risk Assessment Report (NITE, CERI, NEDO) (2008); DFGOT Vol. 21 (2002)); however, the dose given was 8 mg/kg bw/day, which was below the guidance dose value.
