Based on the classification of "Group 2B" in IARC (IARC suppl. 7 (1987)), the substance was classified into Category 2. (Panfuran-S contains 20% dihydroxymethyl furatrizine). In dietary administration tests with Panfuran-S, the incidences of forestomach papillomas, duodenal adenocarcinomas and jejunal adenocarcinomas were increased in rats and the incidences of oesophageal papillomas, oesophageal squamous-cell carcinomas, forestomach paplillomas, forestomach squamous-cell carcinomas, duodenal/jejunal adenocarcinomas and urinary bladder transitional-cell carcinomas were increased in mice (IARC vol. 24 (1980)). | FY2009 | GHS Classification Guidance by the Japanese Government (March, 2009) |
