On the basis that a test (OECD TG 404) applied 500 mg to rabbit skin for 4 hours observed severe necrosis was discontinued due to severe damages after 24 hours and this substance was assessed as caustic as a result (BUA Report 255 (2006)), it was classified in Category 1.

Due to severe damages, a test (OECD TG 405) applied 100 mg used only 1 rabbit was discontinued after 72 hours.

From the List 2 information that the reduction of blood pressure due to vasodilation as a result of inhibition of vasomotor nerves was considered to be caused by this substance (BUA Report 255 (2006), it was classified in Category 2 (cardiovascular system).
In addition, because poisoning signs such as nervousness, tremor, and staggering followed by sedation, ataxia, dyspnea, hypothermia, a prone position, and jerking after 30 minutes and an LD50 value of 1350 mg/kg were observed in an acute oral administration test in rats (OECD TG401; GLP) (BUA Report 255 (2006)), and test doses (1000, 1250, 1580 mg/kg) correspond to Category 2 in Guidance values, it was classified in Category 2 (nervous system).
Besides, it corresponds to "Not classified" in dermal administration because a dermal administration test in rats given 2000 mg/kg reported only an unkempt coat in 1 animal but no other abnormal findings including in necropsy finding (BUA Report 255 (2006)).
