As for experimental animals, in a 28-day oral dose toxicity test with rats dosed by gavage, effects were observed in the group dosed at 60-300 mg/kg/day (converted guidance value: 18.7-93.3 mg/kg/day), which is within the range for Category 2, and as findings in the group dosed at 300 mg/kg/day, an increase in total cholesterol, an increase in liver weight, and centrilobular hypertrophy of the hepatocytes were observed in females and males, and increases in total bilirubin and phospholipid, a transient decrease in food consumption in the early stage of the administration, and increased acidophilic corpuscles of the renal tubular epithelium in males, and increased phospholipid in females were observed (JECDB (Access on November 2015), Environmental Risk Assessment for Chemical Substances Vol.8 (Ministry of the Environment, 2010), SIDS (2011)).
Eosinophilic corpuscles of the renal tubular epithelium found in males in the above test were not included in the evidence of the classification for specific target organ toxicity (repeated exposure) because it has poor toxicological significance due to the specific findings for male rats.
From the above, effects on the liver were seen within the range for Category 2.
Therefore, it was classified in Category 2 (liver).
