In the acute oral toxicity study in rats (dose levels: 980 - 1870 mg/kg, LD50 value: 1360 mg/kg), coma occurred within 10 minutes after administration, and thereafter salivation and emaciation were observed on day 3 to 4 (Food and Cosmetics Toxicology, vol.2 (1964)). In the acute oral toxicity study in mice (dose levels: 1650 - 2480 mg/kg, LD50 value: 2020 mg/kg), clinical signs such as labored breathing, hyperactivity and coma, etc. were observed within 15 minutes after administration (Food and Cosmetics Toxicology, vol.2 (1964)). Since the doses were equivalent to Category 2 of the guidance values, the substance was classified as Category 2 (nervous system).
