The National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE) today announced the results of a Sample Purchase Product Safety Test on Microwavable Foot Warmers (Safety Alert).

NITE implemented a sample purchase product safety test on microwavable foot warmers available in the market. Test results showed that in some products, excessive heating in disregard of product instructions can result in burn injuries. Consequently, NITE has issued a NITE Alert from the perspective of accident prevention calling for consumers' attention to avoid this hazard.
