NITE (National Institute of Technology and Evaluation; President: Itaru Yasui) gave a presentation for the media on preventing accidents involving snowplows as shown in the attached materials.

1. Press release

Release date:
February 23, 2012
Title:
Prevention of accidents involving snowplows
Publisher:
Product Safety Technology Center
Summary:
The NITE Product Safety Technology Center called consumers' attention to the prevention of accidents involving snowplows on November 10, 2011. However, the number of accidents involving snowplows that have been reported in fiscal 2011 is demonstrating an upward trend that exceeds the previous fiscal year. This is presumably because the intermittent heavy snowfall from the end of the last year led to increased use of snowplows. As accidents involving snowplows tend to cause serious damage and snow is expected until March, we urge you to take note of the accidents to prevent them.
