There were reports that in an oral dose of 2,800-4,000 mg/kg to rats, apathy, emphysema, lung lesions, hemorrhagic erosion of the mucosal glands, extensive intestinal and pancreatic bleeding, and necrosis in the liver and kidney were observed, and in an oral dose of 200-6,000 mg/kg to mice, periodic respiration was shown and dilatation of the stomach, blood stains in the stomach contents, hemorrhages in the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract, hyperemic intestinal wall and serosa, darkened and enlarged liver and spleen, and light red and slightly darkened kidney were macroscopically observed (SIDS (2009), EHC 15 (1980), HSDB (Access on July 2014)). In addition, there is a report that this substance shows no hepatotoxicity (ATSDR (2005)). It is described that it may be irritating to the respiratory tract as an organic tin compound (ATSDR (2005), ACGIH 7th (2001)).
From the above, there was no information on this substance in humans, and the experimental animals' results were not treated as the target of categorization as in the previous classification and were not treated as the target of classification except for respiratory tract irritation.
Therefore, it was classified in Category 3 (respiratory tract irritation).

There are no hazard findings on this substance on repeated exposure for humans.
As for experimental animals, in a test in which rats were dosed by feeding for 13 weeks, no toxic effects were observed at up to the upper limit dose of Category 2 (96 (male) - 101 (female) mg/kg/day), and the effects on the liver (increased weight, increased enzyme activity derived in bile acid in blood) and the hemal system (increases in reticulocyte ratio, the number of white blood cells, lymphocyte ratio, decreased MCH) were observed at the high dose corresponding to "Not classified" (SIDS (2009)). On the other hand, as for the inhalation route, in a test in which rats were exposed to the substance (average particle size: 0.98-1.7 micrometer (assumed to be the mist)) by nose-only inhalation for 4 weeks, the effects on the lung due to irritation were severe, lung discoloration, histological alveolar edema, peribronchial lymphoid cell accumulation, and accumulation of alveolar macrophages were observed at from the extremely low concentration (2.4 mg/m3 (converted guidance value: 0.00074 mg/L/6 hours)) within the range of Category 1. The effects became severe depending on the concentration, and the death case appeared at the concentration (71.3 mg/m3 (converted guidance value: 0.022 mg/L/6 hours)) slightly higher than Category 1. However, no findings to enable identification of the target organ other than the respiratory organs were obtained (SIDS (2009)).
From the above, it was classified in Category 1 (respiratory organs).
