1 | Acute toxicity (Oral) | Not classified |
- |
- | - | Based on a report of an LD50 value of >5,000 mg/kg (SIDS (2010)) for rats, it was classified as "Not classified." | FY2014 | GHS Classification Guidance for the Japanese Government (FY2013 revised edition (Ver. 1.0)) |
1 | Acute toxicity (Dermal) | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - | Classification not possible due to lack of data. | FY2014 | GHS Classification Guidance for the Japanese Government (FY2013 revised edition (Ver. 1.0)) |
1 | Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Gases) | Not classified (Not applicable) |
- |
- | - | Liquid (GHS definition) | FY2014 | GHS Classification Guidance for the Japanese Government (FY2013 revised edition (Ver. 1.0)) |
1 | Acute toxicity (Inhalation: Vapours) | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - | There were reports of LC50 values (4 hours) of >5.62 mg/L (1,961 ppm) and >25.3 mg/L (8,830 ppm) (SIDS (2010)) for rats. However, since it is not possible to identify the category to which these values corresponded, it was classified as "Classification not possible." Besides, since the LC50 values were lower than 90% of the saturated vapor concentration (444,225 ppm), the reference value in units of ppm was applied as a vapour without a mist. A new information source (SIDS (2010)) was added, and the classification was revised. | FY2014 | GHS Classification Guidance for the Japanese Government (FY2013 revised edition (Ver. 1.0)) |

- | - | Classification not possible due to lack of data. | FY2014 | GHS Classification Guidance for the Japanese Government (FY2013 revised edition (Ver. 1.0)) |
2 | Skin corrosion/irritation | Not classified |
- |
- | - | In a skin irritation test (OECD TG 404) with rabbits, no skin reaction (irritation score: 0.0) was observed, and it was determined that it was not irritating (SIDS (2010)). In addition, in a test with guinea pigs, there is a report that slight erythema was observed (Patty (2012), SIDS (2010)). From the above results, it was judged to be "Not classified" (Category 3 in UN GHS classification). Since the information described in the previous classification was absent from the Lists in the GHS classification guidance for the Japanese government, it was deleted, and test information according to any test guidelines was added, and the category was changed. |

3 | Serious eye damage/eye irritation | Category 2B |
Warning |
H320 | P305+P351+P338 P337+P313 P264 |
There were 2 reports of eye irritation tests (equivalent to OECD TG 405) with rabbits. In one test, a test with eyes washed after application, conjunctival redness was observed 1 hour after application (6/6 animals), but this resolved 72 hours after application (SIDS (2010)). In the other test (unwashed), although conjunctival redness (6/6 animals), iritis and conjunctival edema (1/6 animals) were observed, these disappeared 4 days after application (SIDS (2010)). From the above results, it was judged to be Category 2B. | FY2014 | GHS Classification Guidance for the Japanese Government (FY2013 revised edition (Ver. 1.0)) |

5 | Germ cell mutagenicity | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - | The substance was classified as "Classification not possible" because it was not possible to classify a substance as "Not classified" according to the revised GHS classification guidance for the Japanese government. As for in vivo, it was negative in micronucleus tests with mouse erythrocytes (SIDS (2010)). As for in vitro, it was negative in bacterial reverse mutation tests (SIDS (2010), NTP DB (Access on July 2014)), and it was positive only with non-metabolic activation systems in a mouse lymphoma test with cultured mammalian cells and a chromosomal aberration test with human lymphocytes (SIDS (2010)). From the above, this substance was determined not to be mutagenic in vivo. | FY2014 | GHS Classification Guidance for the Japanese Government (FY2013 revised edition (Ver. 1.0)) |

This substance was irritating to the respiratory tract (SIDS (2010)). As for experimental animals, upper respiratory tract irritation and anesthetic effects were observed. In addition, effects of central nervous system depression were also observed, and by inhalation or dermal exposure, excitement, loss of equilibrium, stupor, coma and, rarely, respiratory failure occurred. By the oral ingestion, irritation of the gastrointestinal tract, nausea and vomiting were the main symptoms. By inhalation, central nervous system depression, loss of reflexes and lethality were reported at 110 mg/L (ACGIH (7th, 2001), HSDB (Access on June 2014), PATTY (6th, 2012), SIDS (2010)). In addition, by an oral administration to mice, there is a description that there was a mild-moderate respiration hazard (PATTY (6th, 2012)). The effects of central nervous system depression on experimental animals were observed exceeding the range of Category 2. From the above, it was classified in Category 3 (respiratory tract irritation, narcotic effects). |

9 | Specific target organ toxicity - Repeated exposure | Classification not possible |
- |
- | - | There was no data available for classification in humans. As for experimental animals, in a test in which rats were exposed by inhalation to this substance (presence state: presumed to be the vapour) for 28 days, although slight and reversible effects on the blood system (decreased erythrocyte count, variation of erythrocyte parameters) were observed at a higher concentration (5.29 mg/L: converted guidance value (1.65 mg/L/6 hours)) corresponding to "Not classified," but in a 13-week inhalation exposure test, no toxic effects including blood effects were observed even at a further higher concentration (30 mg/L) (SIDS (2010)). Therefore, although it was considered to be corresponding to "Not classified" by the inhalation route, there was no toxicity information by the other routes, and it was classified as "Classification not possible" due to lack of data. | FY2014 | GHS Classification Guidance for the Japanese Government (FY2013 revised edition (Ver. 1.0)) |

H402 | P273 P501 |
It was classified in Category 3 from 48-hour EC50 = 10.5 mg/L for crustacea (Daphnia magna) (SIDS, 2008). | FY2014 | GHS Classification Guidance for the Japanese Government (FY2013 revised edition (Ver. 1.0)) |
11 | Hazardous to the aquatic environment Long term (Chronic) | Category 3 |

H412 | P273 P501 |
Reliable chronic toxicity data were not obtained. Due to being not rapidly degradable (a 28-day degradation rate in a test according to OECD 301F: 0% (SIDS, 2008)), and 48-hour EC50 = 10.5 mg/L for crustacea (Daphnia magna) (SIDS, 2008), it was classified in Category 3. |
