jadomycin B 生産菌Streptomyces venezuelae ISP5230にあるjadMをE.coliにて発現、クローニング。

jadM欠損株は、jadomycin生産がwild-typeの2-5%程度に落ちた。
また、この欠損株の生育は良く、chloramphenicolの生産には変化がなかったことから、jadMがコードしているholo-ACP synthaseはjadomycin B合成の初期段階に関与しているのではないかと言っている。

holo-ACP synthaseであるというのは配列解析(その他PPTaseとのalignment、系統樹)から。

MtaB-MtaGのACP, PCP domainは4'-phosphopantetheine cofactorのためのputative binding siteのProsite consensus signatureを含んでいる。
