putative transcriptional regulators asm2, asm29, and asm34と、putative regulatory protein asm39をsingle-site integrative vector pAP40 と multicopy replicative vector pREPにクローニング。
これをA. pretiosumへ戻して恒常的過剰産生させ、ansamitocin産生量への影響を見ている。

asm2はtranscriptional repressorであると考えられていたが、integrative vectorにあるときはansamitocin P-3産生の減少を、replicative vectorにあるときは増加をもたらした。

自発的な高産生株A. pretiosum mutantではasm2がdownregulateされていることがマイクロアレイ解析で示されている(unpublished data)。

asm2 or asm39の過剰発現によるansamitocin P-3産生増加は、生合成gene clusterの外側にある多面的なregulatorsを介した間接的な結果であるかもしれない。
