FdmJ, L, M, M1, P, Qはantibiotic monooxygenase domainを持つ。
(interpro:26.0でIPR007138 Antibiotic biosynthesis monooxygenase domainが確認できるのはFdmJ, P, Qのみ)

fdmC-fdmT3のfragmentをS.albusへ導入し、FDM-A産生に十分であることを確認している。

delta-fdmM, delta-fdmM1 mutantを作成し産物解析。
FDM生合成においてFdmMはC-6、FdmM1はC-8での hydroxylationsを触媒する。
これらgenesのhomologはこれまで機能不明タンパクとされており、新しいoxygenase familyといえる。

C-6, C-8はpolyketideでのpositionに相当。
