AknU: aklaviketone reductase (KRII)

Streptomyces sp. C5のaklaviketone reductase (DauE)に最も強い類似あり。

glycosyltransferase (aknS), aminomethylase (aknX), glucose-1-phosphate thymidylyltransferase (aknY) とunidentified glycosylation functions (aknT and aknV)を含むplasmid pSgs4は、aklavinoneを蓄積するS. galilaeus mutants H063と、rhodinose and deoxyfucose residuesを持つaklavinoneを産生するH054でaclacinomycinsの産生を回復。(aknUもpSgs4に含まれている。)

また、ε-rhodomycinone(RHO)を蓄積するS. peucetius mutants M18において、
pSgs4の導入はL-rhamnosyl-RHO と L-daunosaminyl-RHO を、
pSgs42(aknS, aknT, aknU, aknV)の導入はL-rhamnosyl-RHO のみを産生する。
