配列解析のみ。
JamAと配列がとても似ていることから、free hexanoic acidをATP依存で活性化してhectochlorin生合成を開始すると提唱される。その後acyl基は、acyl-adenylateからHctBのC末領域にあるACP domainへと移動されるようだ。
