ORF5(=jadEに相当)は配列解析からketoreductaseであると提唱されている。
ORF2-ORF4領域(ORF5も含まれる)を含んだplasmidの染色体DNAへの組み込みは、jadomycin B産生を激しく抑制したが、成長や胞子色素沈着には影響なし。
