ncsC: dNDP-mannose synthase

相同性より機能付けしている。
dNDP-D-mannose synthasesに対するNcsCの配列相同性をもとに、sugar moietyの生合成はdNDP-D-mannoseから始まると提案している。
C-2ヒドロキシル基はNeocarzinostatin(NCS)のdeoxy aminosugar moietyでは最終的に欠損しているためD-glucose-1-phosphateから合成が始まり、NcsCがdNDP-D-glucose synthaseであることは除外出来ない。しかし、NcsC1のC末領域が既知のNGDHs(dNDP-D-glucose 4,6-dehydratase)と相同性が乏しくglucose 4,6-dehydratase enzymesの配列を用いたプライマーでNcsC1の増幅が出来ないことから、おそらくdNDP-D-mannoseがNcsC1の基質であると推定している。
