orf(-1): Nucleoside hydrolase

生合成遺伝子の境界を決定するため、orf(-1), orf(-2), orf(-3)-orf(-5),orf(+1), orf(+2), orf(+3)-orf(+5)欠損株作製。
いずれもoxazolomycin 産生にいかなる影響も与えなかったことから、oxazolomycin生合成には関与しないと結論づけている。

このORFについて機能解析はされていない。

nucleoside hydrolases (NHs)をコードしていると考えられるrih1, rih2をクローニングし、E. coliで発現させ、そのcrude extractsを用いて活性を調べている。rih1産物は、pyrimidine-specific ribonucleoside hydrolase活性を示し、rih2産物は inosine>adenosine>uridine>guanosine>xanthosine>cytidineの順に活性が高いnon-specific NHs familyの活性を持つ事を示している。
