lndI がlandomycin E (LaE) producer Streptomyces globisporus 1912から、
クローニングされ、シークエンスされた。

破壊されたlndI geneを持つS. globisporus I2-1の培養は、landomycin Eやその他関連中間体を産生しなかった。lndI or lanI で補完され、landomycin E産生を回復。

よって、LanI and LndI はそれぞれのclustersにおいて構造遺伝子の活性化に関連することが示された。

得られたmutant株はlandomycin Aや知られた中間体を産生しなかった。
RT-PCR解析でいくらかのlan genesの転写の完全な休止が確認され、それにはlanJとlanKが含まれた。

aur1P破壊mutantは生育と分化に影響しないがauricin非産生、promoter aur1Apに由来する発現は激減。

Aur1Pはaur1Ap promoter領域の上流に特異的に結合。
よってAur1P regulatorがauricin生合成遺伝子の発現を活性化する。
