staLを置換したmutantはdesulfo-A47934を産生し、A47934を産生しない。精製したStaLを用い、様々な基質でのsulfotransferase活性を調査。StaLは、desulfo-A47934, teicoplanin aglycone, teicoplaninを硫酸化した。StaLによって硫酸化された物質は、わずかに抗菌活性が増加した。
