Release of the Final Report (English edition) on Efficacy Assessment of Disinfecting Substances Alternative to Alcohol Against SARS-CoV-2

This is an announcement of the release of English edition of the Final Report on Efficacy Assessment of Disinfecting Substances Alternative to Alcohol for Use Against Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).
NITE established the Committee on Efficacy Assessment of Disinfecting Substances Alternative to Alcohol for Use Against SARS-CoV-2 in April 2020 based on the request by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Since then, the Committee has performed the efficacy assessment of the virucidal activity of several candidate substances against SARS-CoV-2 for the purpose of disinfection of environmental surfaces in households and community settings under the circumstances of shortage of alcohol disinfectants. The Final Report written in Japanese was released in June, and the Committee was dissolved.
We are pleased to inform you of the release of English edition of the Final Report. English edition of its Executive Summary is also available.
