  Mix ingredients except for maltose, vitamin solution and cysteine-HCl, adjust pH to 6.8 with NaOH and autoclave under a N2 atmosphere. Concentrated cysteine-HCl solution is sterilized separately under a N2 atmosphere. Prior to inoculation, add the filter-sterile maltose and vitamin solutions and cysteine-HCl. Final pH of the medium is 6.5-6.8.

  First dissolve nitrilotriacetic acid and adjust pH to 6.5 with NaOH, and then add minerals. Final pH 7.0.
