ΔaurE mutantはaureothin非産生。発現plasmidによるaurEでの相補で産生は回復した。
また、PNBA-CoAの代理としてPNBA-SNACを補充してもaureothin生合成を回復した。

よって、AurEはstarter unit活性化に関連するが、PKS primingには関与しない。
