CrpC: NRPS

cryptophycin1のaglycon形成には2つのPKSと2つのNRPSが関与。
NRPS(crpC-D)は、unitB(3-chloro-O-methyl-D-tyrosine)、unitC(methyl-beta-alanine)、unitD(branch chain alpha-hydroxy acids)の形成を担う。

取り込み実験から、unit BはL-tyrosineに由来し、Crp NRPSはO-methyl-D- and -L-tyrosine(すなわちL-3-([4-O-CH3]-phenyl)-alanine)の取り込みを触媒することが示された。

crpCはNRPSであるmodule 4をコードする。
domain構成は、C-A-OM-PCP-E
OM=proposed O-metyltransferase domain
E=epimerase(L-tyrosine→D-tyrosineへの変換を触媒すると予測される)
