4つのputative regulatory genes(fscRI, fscRII, fscRIII, and fscRIV)の推定産物はすべてtranscriptional regulatorsのLuxR familyに属しており、FR-008生合成の調節に関与しているかもしれない。
そのようなtranscriptional regulatorsは大きなPKS genesの非常に長いmRNAsの安定性を維持するために働くかもしれない。

fscRII、fscRIIIと部分的なfscRIを含む部分を置換したmutantでは、いかなるFR-008-related compoundsも産生しなかったことから、putative regulatory activitiesが裏付けられた。

nysRII mutantは、nysRII自身で完全に、nysRIVで77%まで相補できる。
NysRIIはnysRI promoterからの効率的転写に必要。
nysRI, II, IIIがないとnysRIV promoterには作用がない。
NysRI, II, III IVは効率的なnystatin産生のために不可欠である。
