fscTI and fscTIIの推定産物は、S. coelicolor A3(2)のATP-dependent ABC transporter superfamilyに属するタンパクに似ており、たぶんFR-008の排出に関与している。

ORF2 protein

Streptomyces rochei F20で、Msr-ORF1とMsr-ORF2は、ABC transporter superfamily のメンバーであるATP-binding proteinとtransmembrane proteinに各々似ていた。msrを破壊しても形質変化は認められず、行った実験条件では発現が検出されず、inducerの発見には至っていない。msrのプロモーター領域をexpressing promoterに入れ替えたプラスミドを作成し、Streptomyces lividans TK21に形質転換させると、薬剤や化学物質(doxorubicin, oleandomycin, erythromycin, tetracycline, spiramycin, streptothricin, tobramycin, novomycin, streptomycin, chloramphenicol, phenol, pentachlorophenol, tetrachlorohydroquinone, ethidium bromide)に抵抗性を示した。

S. antibioticsでoleandomycinに抵抗性を示す遺伝子を単離。
OleC plasmidでクローニングされたORFが5つあり、
Orf4(NBD), Orf5(TMD)がABC transorterとして働いているのではないかと推論。
Orf5(TMD)については後にTopologyの解析もしてABC transporterのPermeaseであるといっている。
