NanR1: Regulatory protein

nanR1 and nanR2はPKS loading moduleの上流にあり、Streptomyces antibiotic regulatory protein(SARP) familyに属するtranscriptional activatorsに似ている。

SARP familyのタンパクはN末に、E.coli activator OmpRのC末にあるDNA binding domainに似たAA motifsを持っている。このmotifsは、NanR1 and NanR2にもとてもはっきりと見られる。

転写を活性化するため、Streptomycesの抗生物質生合成遺伝子の上流にある特異的配列とSARPsは相互作用すると信じられている。特徴的なSARP binding sitesは、nanT3, nanT5, and nanR2の上流にみられる。
